Neil Smith and I are collaborating on an experimental strip called "Atlantea the Beautiful."  It's about the contemporary United States, of course, but it's set in Atlantis (Atlantea) before the flood.  The "Prophet of Doom" who appears here, the cynical old guy, is based on Ron Paul.  He keeps telling everybody that Atlantea is about to sink, but nobody wants to hear it, much less the politicians.  You can see other strips at the Libertarian Enterprise.

As Bush ignored or flat-out trashed the concerns of his conservative voters for eight years — immigration, abortion, fiscal responsibility, etc. — it now appears that Obama (considering his cabinet picks so far) is about to aggressively ignore the left of his party, which he exploited deftly to wrest the nomination away from Clinton.

The cabinet's shaping up to be... Pretty much the Bush cabinet with a few Clintonian flourishes.  If I were a leftie who voted for him, I'd be mad as hell.  But I'm not, so I just feel a little schadenfreude.
